Although Hewitt reportedly says it's unlikely he'll take the Red Storm job if offered, Mark Bradley of AJC.com says it's best for everyone involved if he does.

Seemingly out to prove a point in this year's NIT, Virginia Tech used a Malcom Delaney jumper with 14 seconds remaining to pull out a hard-fought 65-63 win over UConn in Cassell Coliseum Monday night. [Mar. 23, 2010] Almost every roster in sports experiences year-to-year turnover. The Atlanta Braves, despite a bevy of young players, are no exception. Still, as David O'Brien of the AJC.com says, GM Frank Wren seems pleased at how the additions are passing the test of team unity.

No Salary cap means less free-spending, more dumping deadweight.
[Mar. 22, 2010] SInce 2006 the NFL Players Association took the position that once the salary cap left, there would never be a return. The NFL PA may want to rethink that stance. [Mar. 18, 2010] Another beautiful spring day in Southside Virginia means many local teams took to the fields. In addition to wins by Bassett's softball (4-1) and boys soccer (3-2) over Christiansburg, Martinsville's girls tennis team also captured their first team win of the year. PHCC Lady Patriots roll to NJCAA Quarterfinals.
[Mar. 18, 2010] 10 days of rest clearly proved more beneficial than harmful for the Patrick Henry Lady Patriots. PHCC jumped to an early 14-3 lead over Prince George's Community College and rolled to at 93-50 victory.
