It appears it won't allow him to play for at least another week as well.
Speaking on Terrell Owens' "Inside the Huddle" radio show on Tuesday night, the quarterback said he was disappointed yet feels sitting out Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers is the right decision.
Patriot Gains[Oct. 21, 2008] For at least one game and one night, the New England Patriots rediscovered the joys of domination.
"We had a lot of things to hang our hats on tonight coming from all three units," Patriots receiver Randy Moss said. "We put it together. I think that when we put all three of those together this team is very, very scary. "
The inconsistent Patriots maintained their back-and-forth ways Monday night with a no-doubt 41-7 victory over the Denver Broncos at Gillette Stadium.
Panthers just say N.O.[Oct. 20, 2008] Julius Peppers had a sack, forced a fumble, broke up a pass and helped the defense spearhead a convincing 30-7 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Peppers' play punctuated a balanced effort that saw Jake Delhomme throw two touchdown passes, Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart each score touchdowns, and the defense shut down Saints quarterback Drew Brees and the NFL's second-ranked offense.
Cowboys look lost in the desert[Oct. 13, 2008] For a few frantic moments Sunday, the Cowboys made you forget how pedestrian they've become. Marion Barber's mad dash to the end zone and a 52-yard field goal by Nick Folk at the end of regulation temporarily covered up another unimpressive effort.
Belichick denies Davis' tampering allegation[Oct. 2, 2008] Davis said Tuesday that the Patriots had tampered with Moss before the deal in April 2007 that brought the wide receiver to the Patriots for a fourth-round choice that year on the weekend of the NFL draft.
"I've told the story about Randy many, many times," Belichick said in a conference call with members of the media covering the 49ers, "and the first time I ever talked to Randy was the Sunday morning of the second day of the draft last year.
Bassett drops to McMichael[Sep. 30, 2008] Bassett’s football team dropped to McMichael (N.C.) High School 20-17 at home on Monday, putting an end to the Bengals’ hopes of an undefeated season.A 56-yard rushing touchdown by Boo Woods in the fourth quarter put the Bengals within 3, but an inability to execute effectively allowed McMichael to regain possession and run the clock down to end the game. “Totally my fault on play-calling,” Bassett coach Jay Gilbert said afterward. “The play-calling on that last series was not what it should have been, it just wasn’t. I take all the blame for the loss.” The Bengals’ record dropped to 4-1.
Burress would serve one-game suspension, halve financial penalty[Sep. 27, 2008] If the settlement is reached, Burress will still miss the Giants game on Oct. 5 against the Seattle Seahawks but he will lose just half of the $235,294 he is being docked for a two-week suspension.
As a final condition, sources said, the Giants would agree not to pursue action against Burress seeking any bonus money he could owe under a forfeiture clause in a $35 million contract extension he signed just before the regular season opener. Under the clause, Burress could lose a portion of his bonuses if he is suspended or fined for conduct detrimental to the team. His escalator bonuses for future salary also could be affected without an agreement by the Giants to forgive the penalty.
