Cabrera maintains control over Royals as O's roll
[July 3, 2008] Winless with a 7.06 ERA in June, Daniel Cabrera happily flipped the calendar with another dominant performance against the Kansas City Royals.

Cabrera pitched a seven-hitter to earn his first victory since May 20, Aubrey Huff homered and the Baltimore Orioles beat Gil Meche and the Royals 5-2 Wednesday night.

All-CVa: Bickers, Patriots a perfect fitAll-CVa: Bickers, Patriots a perfect fit
[Jul. 3, 2008] Carroll Bickers’ coaching career has been filled with surprises — especially the last two years.
Although it didn’t seem like it at the time, it was a serendipitous twist of fate that brought the 2008 All-Central Virginia baseball coach of the year together with his overachieving Albemarle team. Amezaga's two-run homer helps Marlins nip NationalsAmezaga's two-run homer helps Marlins nip Nationals
[Jul. 3, 2008] A rain delay was worth the wait for Alfredo Amezaga and the Florida Marlins.

Amezaga hit a go-ahead two-run home run in seventh inning when play resumed after a 1½-hour delay and the Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Wednesday.

It was just the second home run of the season for Amezaga, who has 11 in 1,106 career at-bats.
