WVU Linebacker Marc Magro Signs Practice Squad Contract

The agent for former WVU linebacker Marc Magro announced today that the St.
Louis Rams have signed Magro to a practice squad contract. Attorney Jerome
L. Tierney indicated that Magro was involved in an intense training camp
battle
with a number of drafted linebackers, free agents and veterans for roster
spots with the Rams. "Making the practice squad is a tribute to Marc's
determination and work ethic. He has climbed the mountain, beaten the
odds as a free agent and won"
The Pittsburgh attorney explained the importance of being on the practice
squad: "It shows that the Rams recognize that Marc Magro belongs in the
NFL. He'll practice with the team and continue his development as an NFL
linebacker.
Tierney noted that practice squad players frequently are signed to a
team's active roster as the practice squad player adjusts to the NFL game. In
addition, practice squad players frequently are signed to a team's active
roster due to injuries or poor performance by other players.
Tierney concluded, "Rest assured, Marc Magro will be playing on Sundays
this year."
