Pulaski Mariners stay hot with a 7-3 victory over Johnson City

A strong outing by Nick Czyz (3-1) helped the Pulaski Mariners push their win streak to six games. The Mariners got the action started in the top of the 3rd with back-to-back doubles from Juan Fuentes and Jose Rivero, giving Pulaski a 1-0 Lead.

In the top of the 4th, a double, error, and walk loaded the bases for Pulaski with no outs. They managed to push two runs across on a 6-4 force-out and a sac fly. The Mariners extended the lead to 4-0 in the top of the fifth when Tommy Johnson hit into an error, allowing Fuentes to score. In the bottom of the fifth, a Jairo Martinez solo shot brought the Johnson City Cardinals back to within three before Pulaski opened the game up with a three run inning in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a Guy Welsh two run single. The Cardinals got two back late, but the Pulaski Mariners take the win 7-3.

Czyz ended his night after six innings, allowing only three hits and one run while striking out four. Catcher Juan Fuentes led the Mariners offensively going 5-5 with two doubles and three runs. Guy Welsh went 3-4 with a double, run, and 2 RBIs.
