Concord's Amanda Blankenship Earns WVIAC Weekly Cross Country Honor



WVIAC cross country coaches have made their weekly selections for Runners of
the Week, team Top Fives, and individual Top Fives. This week's honorees
and ratings are listed below:

*Men's Runner of the Week:*

---Mike Ortiz, Seton Hill, Soph, Astonia, NY: Ortiz ran a 20:36 for the 5K
distance and a third place individual finish in the Division II portion of
the St. Vincent Invitational. The back-to-back Runner of the Week honoree
established a personal best for the 8K distance and posted his fifth top ten
finish of his career.

2008 winners: 9/2-Jess Bradley (SHU), 9/9-Nate Edwards (WVWC), 9/16-Ryan
Skotnicki (A-B), 9/23-Mike Ortiz (SHU), 9/30-Mike Ortiz (SHU).

*Women's Runner of the Week:*

---Amanda Blankenship, Concord, Jr., Mount Hope, WV: Blankenship clocked a
time of 20:36 for the 5K distance at the Greensboro Invitational...Her third
place finish among Division II runners helped Concord capture the D-II title
in a 12-team field that included defending South Atlantic Conference
champion Wingate.

(A-B), 9/23-Anna Cote (SHU), 9/30-Amanda Blankenship (CU).
